Fear Nothing was founded in 2015 by Shawn Antoski, a retired NHL hockey player. After struggling with mental health issues, Shawn became a strong and passionate advocate wanting to help others. As a result, he spearheaded a group in Belleville led by Howie Marshall. Fear Nothing meets on a weekly basis where everyone is welcome. There is no cost, no commitment, no expectations and no judgement. People helping people with kindness, understanding and support.
Members are individuals from all walks of life who struggle or who have struggled with mental health issues. Sharing, understanding and support are key to the healing process.
Healing by listening and talking to others with mental health issues who understand. Together we are better, and kindness really does matter.
The goal of Fear Nothing is to assist others so that they feel they are not alone or isolated on their journey to wellness. And, where everyone feels welcome, accepted, supported and understood.
Respect, dignity, self-worth, privacy and understanding achieved through support groups, advocacy for individuals with mental health issues and public awareness.
